Rajiv Shah is set to appear in the role of Josh for the upcoming production of The Antipodes, written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Annie Baker. Actors’ Reading Collective is set to stage the West Coast premiere this fall.
The Antipodes, is a masterful exploration of storytelling and creativity. The play explores themes of creativity, connection, and invites audiences to reflect on their own experiences with collaboration and/or storytelling. The play unfolds in a room where a group of writers convene to brainstorm ideas for a new unnamed project, delving into the complexities of collaboration and the elusive nature of inspiration. Part satire, part sacred rite, The Antipodes asks what value stories have for a world in crisis.
Baker’s work is renowned for its intimate and nuanced portrayals of human relationships, often blending humor with profound insights into everyday life. She won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for her play The Flick.
