September 19, 2023 was an exciting day for actor, Rajiv Shah, who stepped into a new role as a Local Board Member – Performer for the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), representing the San Francisco-NorCal local. Rajiv shared his enthusiasm on his Instagram account with a post stating, “First day of service @sagaftra.”

As a dedicated professional, Rajiv has been an active and passionate member of the entertainment industry for over twenty years. His work expands across various mediums, a testament to his ability to create work and foster new opportunities. Now, Rajiv takes his passion and expertise a step further as he embarks on this new chapter with SAG-AFTRA.

SAG-AFTRA is a prestigious labor union representing approximately 160,000 actors, announcers, broadcast journalists, dancers, DJs, news writers, news editors, program hosts, and other media professionals worldwide. By serving as a Board Member at SAG-AFTRA, Rajiv will help work towards the union’s goals to provide fair representation, improving wages, working conditions, and offering comprehensive protection and benefits for its members.

Taking on this new responsibility, Rajiv is committed to giving back to the acting community and industry that has brought him much opportunity. Rajiv’s fellow SAG-AFTRA members, as well as professionals around him, can look forward to benefiting from his experience, knowledge, and dedication in this new position.
